You too have caught the fever of artificial silk flowers. You’ve got beautiful silk flower arrangements, silk bouquets and you just can’t get enough of them, you’ve even got silk blossoms for every season there is. Now, what to do with those that are not being displayed at the moment? Carefully store them somewhere safe. But how and what is the best way to do that?
Before packing silk blossoms away, make sure they are free from dust by gently dusting them with a feather duster and, if possible, cleaning them with solution specifically for artificial silk flowers.
Best Ways To Keep Artificial Silk Flowers
One of the best ways to store them is to use the container that the artificial silk flowers came in. Good quality silk flowers normally come in good quality boxes as well. This is the ideal place to pack them in and for that extra care, wrap the flowers in bubble wrap or polystyrene beads.
Do not pack too many of flowers in a single container though, or they may end up crushed or torn.
However, if you happen to misplace the original container then the next best thing is to use a loose fitting plastic bag. You need to tie the bottom of the plastic to keep the dirt and grime away and thereby prevent the discoloring of the petals. Store the bag in a place where it’s not too crowded so the flowers will not be crushed.
It is also good to pack them away in storage boxes and place them on top of each other to save space. And to prevent mildew and the glue from damaging the petals, store the plastic bag or boxes where it is not extremely hot or damp.
